"Exposure Visit to Mairang" Springshed-Based Watershed Development Programme!

We recently organized an Exposure Visit for 20 enthusiastic beneficiaries from Sadolpara under the Springshed-Based Watershed Development Programme!

The visit took place in Mairang, where participants explored two exemplary watershed projects: Mairang Mission Watershed (ongoing) & Pyndengumiong Watershed (completed)

What We Learned: At Mairang Mission Watershed, beneficiaries witnessed:

• Diversion Weirs

• Spring Tap Chambers

• Contour Trenches

• Proposed Water Harvesting Sites

Expert guidance by Dr. Ereneus from KVK enriched the experience with in-depth knowledge of watershed structures and their benefits.

At Pyndengumiong Watershed, they saw:

• Diversion Weirs

• Completed Water Harvesting Structures

Field staff demonstrated the construction process and shared success stories of water conservation and improved agriculture.

This exposure visit, funded by NABARD and facilitated by BAKDIL NGO, Tura, provided valuable practical insights to our participants, empowering them to implement similar initiatives back home in Sadolpara, West Garo Hills.
