Green Food Day Observed Under BAKDIL’s Initiative in Selsella Block

On 12 September 2025, the Adil Cluster Level Federation (CLF), under the facilitation of BAKDIL NGO, successfully organised the Observation of Green Food Day in collaboration with the Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission (MECDM), the Medical Team, Social Welfare Department, and Education Department at Selsella C&RD Block.

The programme was graced by Smt. Nikrachi Ch. Sangma, JRDO Selsella C&RD Block, along with representatives from multiple line departments including Medical Teams, Social Welfare Teams from Tura, local leaders (LS, GS), ASHAs, AWWs, school teachers, BMMU staff, CGHA cadres, Nokmas, SHG members, and pregnant and lactating mothers.

Key topics highlighted during the event included:

• The importance of consuming green and organic vegetables

• Child Protection Act and related services

• Child growth and development

• Awareness on teenage pregnancy and tuberculosis

As part of the programme, free medical services were provided to community members including BP and blood sugar checks, as well as sputum collection for TB testing. An exhibition on green vegetables and healthy cooking methods further promoted the day’s message of nutrition and wellness.
