Selsella, August 1, 2025 — New Village Organisation (VO) Offices were inaugurated in the villages of Mandagre and Nokatgre, marking a significant milestone in grassroots rural development. These offices were constructed through the dedicated efforts of the Village Employment Councils (VECs) under the MGNREGA scheme.

The event was graced by Shri Arbinstone B. Marak, Hon’ble MLA of Selsella Constituency, as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Shri Emanuel M. Sangma, BDO of Selsella C&RD Block, Smt. Mechele Momin, District Programme Manager (MSRLS), West Garo Hills, and Smt. Jenny Frestha Marak, Block Programme Manager of Selsella, MSRLS.

In his address, Shri Arbinstone encouraged the community to make the best use of the newly established facilities and to explore further opportunities through various government schemes. He emphasized aligning local development with the Chief Minister’s vision of making Meghalaya a billion-dollar economy. He also urged the youth and SHG members to take advantage of initiatives like the CM Elevate Programme. Additionally, he highlighted the deteriorating condition of NH-127B, appealing to local stakeholders to address ongoing issues surrounding its land requisition.
The Selsella Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), operated by BAKDIL NGO in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), played a key role in facilitating and supporting the development of the VO infrastructure.
