BAKDIL is proud to announce that the Siju Primary Health Centre (PHC) in South Garo Hills, managed under the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) mode, has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Certification by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

This recognition is a milestone achievement for Meghalaya, showcasing our collective journey towards building a public healthcare system that is accessible, accountable, and rooted in quality.
The NQAS framework, developed by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) under the Quality Council of India (QCI), assesses healthcare facilities on critical parameters such as patient care, infection control, cleanliness, and service delivery. With this achievement, Siju PHC becomes the second PHC in Garo Hills—after Babadam PHC—to receive NQAS certification, with both centres proudly operated by BAKDIL.

During a rigorous assessment held on 21st–22nd July 2025 by NHSRC-empanelled assessors, Siju PHC secured an outstanding score of 97.14%, setting a new benchmark for quality rural healthcare in Meghalaya.

When BAKDIL took over the management of Siju PHC 16 years ago, the centre was struggling with severe infrastructure and service challenges. Over the years, through persistent effort, resilience, and a strong patient-first approach, the PHC has been transformed into a model of rural healthcare, proving that with commitment and vision, even the most underserved communities can access dignified healthcare services.
This achievement is the result of months of preparation, capacity building, and quality improvement efforts by:
BAKDIL’s Health Programme Management Team and the dedicated health staff of Siju PHC
The Joint Directorate Quality Committee (JDQC)
The office of the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), South Garo Hills
The Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP)
The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC)
The National Health Mission (NHM)
We remain deeply grateful for their mentorship, technical guidance, and unwavering support in this journey.

“For us, this certification is not just an award—it is a recognition of our ethics, our responsibility, and our belief that quality healthcare is the right of every person,” said a BAKDIL spokesperson. “It reaffirms our commitment to service, transparency, inclusivity, and excellence.”
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the healthcare team at Siju PHC. Their dedication has turned this milestone into a beacon of hope for Meghalaya, inspiring health institutions across the state to aim higher and build a healthcare system grounded in justice, compassion, and quality care.
