On International Women's Day, Bakdil has organized Exhibition and Sale of Women SHG Products at Parade Ground Tura.
Shri Ram Singh, IAS, DC, West Garo Hills graced the event as Chief Guest and inaugurated the SHG stalls in presence of Rt. Rev. Andrew R Marak, Dr. Barbara Sangma, Dept. Of English DBC Tura, Shri Madras Dkhar, DDM, NABARD, Fr Sunny Mavelil, Director of BAKDIL and many participants from Urban Self Help Groups.
Active women SHG members and ASHA workers from Tura urban area have been felicitated and awarded for their active participating in the SHG movement and bringing change in the society.
In Dadenggre the SBI Foundation-funded Gram Seva Program organized a 7KM marathon race for young girls where 40 runners participated. Shri V. Aggarwal, IAS, Civil SDO flagged off the marathon and distributed Rs 10000 for first finishers and Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 cheques for second and third finishers.
The BAKDIL implemented National Rural Livelihood Mission program has also organized the Sale of SHG products at Selsell and Dadenggre Blocks respectively.
